Tasked with creating an application that could help make purchasing things a little less annoying, Snapshop was born. After various research on current technology and user needs, the application was designed to streamline your grocery shopping experience, making those quick trips after work a little less annoying. Utilizing NFC (Near Field Communication) technology commonly found in smartphones of today, Snapshop makes your shopping trip more efficient by eliminating the time you waste when you reach the register.
Process
Wanting to make the shopping process as efficient as possible, our team set off to conduct user interviews in order to find out what the biggest annoyance was about shopping. Through user research we found the most common problems to be wasted time and the troubles of inputting information. We found that eliminating unnecessary steps in the shopping process would be the best way to solve these problems. Research was also conducted on current technology that we could utilize in the app, including NFC and RFID chips.
